Become a workplace rep
The role of the workplace representative (rep) is a vital one for the National Education Union.
Our reps help us build the union and support our members.
Whatever the scope of your role - from ensuring posters, advice and guidance are displayed on the staff
noticeboard, to liaising directly with the head teacher or principal, to representing your work colleagues we
could not function without you.
Over the coming term Oxfordshire NEU local Officers will be visiting workplaces without a rep
to meet with members.
Getting your workplace organised is really important - not just for campaigning, but to ensure that things are
done properly, that policies are adhered too and to ensure that all staff have a voice.
Data shows that workplaces with a rep have less incidents of mismanagement and are likely to
have better working relationships with their employers
You don't have to do this alone! Some of the best workplace reps work are a team of reps
